Café de Paris, a historic brand in the sparkling wine category, continues its conquest with the same ambition: to become the leading brand for French sparkling wines.
A new Vin de France certified recipe
It’s the result of a joint effort by Cordier employees, and in particular the know-how and passion of the teams at Cubzac, the historical site specializing in the production of sparkling wines. With its Vin de France appellation, Café de Paris is highlighting the strong ties that bind the brand to its partner cooperatives. This is an essential development to enhance the value of our know-how in the service of the product, and to gain in perceived value in this growing category, which is emerging more and more on the shelves.
On the oenological side, the selection of Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Chardonnay grapes, as well as the preparation of the wines and the choice of yeast, give a unique balance that sets Café de Paris apart from its competitors. A fresher nose with citrus notes and a lower sugar content, Café de Paris Brut is highly expressive.

Readjusted positioning
After repositioning its brand territory towards a more modern identity while continuing to embody the French art of living, the Café de Paris brand wishes to assert its 100% French DNA through a more statutory packaging, while retaining this new iconic bottle developed in 2023 with local partners.
The round, generous bottle is decorated with scrolls like those found in Parisian bistros built during the Belle Epoque. These reliefs also subtly represent Eiffel architecture, with the Eiffel Tower, symbol of Paris, and the Eiffel Bridge, symbol of the link between Bordeaux and the Cubzac-les-Ponts factory. The sleeker, more subtle label reinforces the product’s French origin and intensifies the brand’s legibility. A return to basics that maximizes French origin. This is a new stage in the development of the brand, which, as a symbol of conviviality and spontaneity, will continue to express in its communications its signature: Catch the moment!

First sparkling wine producer to venture into bottle return and reuse
Following on from the creation of its iconic bottle, developed with Verallia France and the Linéa agency – produced from 80% cullet (recycled glass) – the Café de Paris bottle has been certified reusable since May 2024. A project co-constructed upstream with the purchasing teams of the InVivo group, the glassmaker, and downstream with Bout à Bout (the French glass container reuse network) to industrialize the washing process. The new labels are of course compatible with this process.
This year, Cordier joined Adelphe and Citéo in their joint efforts to promote reuse, and is the only French sparkling wine producer to date to adopt the returnable deposit system. Cordier’s CSR strategy extends from grape to glass. In particular, Cordier is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by becoming the first sparkling wine producer to take part in the national scheme. The reusable Café de Paris bottle is already present in over 160 Carrefour stores, and will soon be in 250 by the end of the year. The deposit-refund scheme will also be extended to Monoprix, Coopérative U and, most certainly, local and hard-discount outlets by 2025.
Cordier’s objective is to achieve 25% reemployment by 2025. This will represent an annual saving of 65 tonnes of CO2, or an 8% reduction in its CO2 emissions.
